Next, you'll need to make arrangements to have your fingerprints done. Now, it is done electronically so no more messy ink :) Simply find a location near you by checking here. Then you schedule an appointment and the fingerprints are sent to the state.

Then you will need to find a pre-licensing course to attend. Florida requires you attend a 63 hour course. There is an end of class exam that you must also pass.

Next, don't forget to study for the state exam. You'll receive a letter in the mail when your application is complete and you have the clear to test. Locally, here in the Ft. Myers area, we have testing available nearly every day for your convenience.

After you take the state exam and pass you need a broker to work under. As you may know, we are currently hiring licensed real estate agents at Florida Future Realty, Inc.

If you are not local, I suggest you try going online to google and searching for "your city real estate" to find companies that have good search engine rankings online. They'll be the best companies to work for as far as having buyer leads. Most of our buyers start their real estate search online so the company you work for should be online and easily found.

Pick 3-5 companies to research. Check them out online, call some of their agents and schedule an interview with the ones that interest you most. Remember, you want to work somewhere that you'll be happy, have fun and earn your desired income. Determine your goals and be honest with the broker or sales manager about your goals to make sure you and the company are a 'fit'. I think you'll know the company when you find it.

I hope this information helps. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Good luck with your real estate career!
